BITSAT 2026 Exam Date, Syllabus, Pattern, Registration, Eligibility, Preparation Tips

1. Educational Qualification

• Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must have passed the 12th-grade examination under the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or an equivalent qualification.

• Subject Requirements:

  • For B.E. (except B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engineering) and M.Sc. Programmes:

    • A minimum of five subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, one Language, and any additional subject beyond these four.

  • For B.Pharm. and B.E. Environmental and Sustainability Engineering Programmes:

    • A minimum of five subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, one Language, and any additional subject beyond these four.

2. Minimum Marks Requirement

• Aggregate Marks:

  • Candidates must secure an aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology, and at least 60% marks in each of these subjects individually.

  • Both theory and practical components must be considered while calculating percentages.

3. Eligibility Based on 12th Examination

• Latest Performance Considered:

  • If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in the 12th class or its equivalent, only the latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.

4. Age Limit

• There is no minimum age limit to apply for the BITSAT exam.

5. Current Enrollment Restriction

• Students currently enrolled in any programme at a BITS campus are not eligible to appear in BITSAT 2026.

6. Direct Admission to Board Toppers

• First rank students of State and Central boards in India for the year 2026 will be given direct admission to the programme of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT 2026 score, as per the eligibility criteria.

The application process for BITSAT 2026 will be conducted online through the official website of BITS Pilani. Candidates must carefully follow the steps given below to successfully complete their registration:

Step 1: Online Registration

• Visit the official website of BITS Admission.

• Click on “REGISTER” link and enter basic details such as name, email ID, mobile number, and date of birth.

• A unique application number and login credentials will be generated.

Step 2: Filling the Application Form

• Log in using the allotted credentials.

• Enter personal details (name, gender, category, nationality, etc.), educational qualifications, and exam preferences.

• Select preferred exam centres and sessions as per convenience.

Step 3: Uploading Documents

• Upload scanned copies of a passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.

• Ensure that the documents are clear and meet the specified guidelines.

Step 4: Application Fee Payment

• Pay the BITSAT 2026 application fee online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.

• The fee amount may vary for male, female, and international candidates.

Step 5: Application Form Submission

• Review all the details carefully before final submission.

• Submit the form and take a printout of the application confirmation page for future reference.

Step 6: Slot Booking

• Once the application process is complete, candidates must participate in slot booking to select their preferred exam date, time, and test centre.

Step 7: Admit Card Download

• After successful slot booking, candidates can download the BITSAT 2026 Admit Card from the official website.

1. A candidate choosing to appear in only one session (either Session-1 or Session-2) of BITSAT 2026 will be required to pay:
   
   ₹3,500 for male candidates,
   ₹3,000 for female candidates, and
   ₹3,000 for transgender candidates.
    
2. A candidate opting to appear in both sessions of BITSAT 2026 will need to pay:
   
   ₹5,500 for male candidates,
   ₹4,500 for female candidates, and
   ₹4,500 for transgender candidates.
    
3. If a candidate selects Dubai as the test centre for either Session-1 or Session-2,
   the application fee for both male and female candidates will be ₹7,150.
   For candidates opting to appear in both sessions, the prescribed fee is ₹9,150.
   
   However, if a candidate initially registers for only one session (Session-1) at Dubai and later decides to take Session-2 as well, they will need to pay an additional fee of ₹2,000.

The BITSAT 2026 counselling and admission process will take place online by BITS Pilani once the results are announced. Candidates who are shortlisted and pass the exam can join the counselling rounds according to their BITSAT score and merit rank.

1. Registration for Counselling

• Qualified candidates must register online on the official BITS admission portal.

• Candidates need to fill in their personal details, academic records, and preferences for programs and campuses (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, and Dubai).

2. Payment of Counselling Fee

• A non-refundable counselling/iteration fee (around ₹1,000, as per previous years) must be paid online to confirm participation in the admission process.

3. Filling Program Preferences

• Candidates must choose and lock their preferred programs and campus options.

• The order of preference is crucial, as allotment will be made strictly on the basis of merit and availability of seats.

4. Iteration Process (Seat Allotment Rounds)

• BITS Pilani conducts multiple iterations (rounds) of seat allotment.

• In each round, seats are allocated based on candidate’s BITSAT score, preferences, and seat availability.

• After each iteration, candidates can either accept the seat, withdraw, or wait for the next round.

5. Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must upload/submit the following documents for verification:

• BITSAT 2026 Admit Card & Scorecard

• Class 10th and 12th Mark Sheets & Certificates

• Transfer and Migration Certificates

• Category/Domicile Certificates (if applicable)

• Passport-size photographs

6. Reporting to Allotted Campus

• Finally, candidates who are allotted a seat must report to the respective BITS campus (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, or Dubai) for final admission formalities and fee payment.

The BITSAT 2026 syllabus follows the NCERT curriculum for Classes 11 and 12, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning. To achieve a good score in the exam, candidates need to prepare each subject thoroughly.
All questions in BITSAT 2026 will be objective type (multiple-choice questions).
Each correct response will carry +3 marks, while each wrong answer will attract a negative marking of -1 mark.
Answering every question is not compulsory, and no marks will be given for unattempted questions.
