State Bank of India being one of the biggest banking recruitment authorities in India, hires a large number of probationary officers, clerks, and special officers. The bank releases notifications of the recruitment drive for various regular and contract basis positions. SBI recruitment notification 2023 for posts of Specialist Officer (SO) has been released by the bank for the recruitment of 41 Specialist Cadre Officers. Interested candidates can fill online application from September 15, 2023, to October 6, 2023, to apply for the position. SBI SO exam will be conducted tentatively on November 11, 2027, online application process for which has already started.

To fill positions of Specialist Officers, SBI looks for experienced and well-qualified candidates.

  • Deputy Manager (Law) - 40 
  • Deputy General Manager (Law) - 01

SBI SO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Deputy Manager (Law)

  • Graduate with a degree in law or a law graduate who passed 5 years integrated Law course from a recognized university in India
  • Apart from law degree, the candidates also need to have enrolled as Advocates with Bar Council and have at least 4 years of experience as law officer

Deputy General Manager (Law)

  • Graduate with a degree in law or a law graduate who passed 5 years integrated Law course from a recognized university in India
  •  
  • The candidate must have at least 15 years of work experience as a Law officer with the Legal department of Scheduled Commercial Banks/ Financial Institutions or State Level Development Financial Institutions.

Age Norms:

Minimum age to apply for SBI SO Exam 2023 is 25 while maximum age limit is 45. Minimum and maximum age criteria vary for different posts, which candidates can confirm on the official website of SBI.

As per the government guidelines, there is relaxation in upper age limit of OBC and PwD candidates.

SBI SO 2026 Application Details

Candidates interested in SBI SO vacancies need to apply for the post online. After filling online application form, you need to submit fees and take a printout of the duly filled application. The last date to fill the form and submit fees is October 06, 2023. Applicants must remember that last date to submit a printout of online application is October 10, 2023. Applications received after this will not be considered for the short listing and interview process.

No, a candidate can apply for only one post under SBI SO vacancy. 

Candidates must carry one photo identity proof such as Passport/ Adhar/ PAN Card/ Driving Licence/ Voter’s Card/ Bank Passbook with duly attested Photograph by the Branch Manager/ Identity Card issued by College or Institution. Candidates are required to submit the photocopy of identity proof along with the call letter to the invigilators in the examination hall.

No, use of calculator, mobile phone, pager or any other electronic gadget is strictly prohibited during the exam. You cannot carry any of these in the examination hall. 

Candidate should download their call letters and an “acquaint yourself” booklet from the official website of State Bank of India by entering their registration number and password / date of birth, as the examination authority will not send the call letter and acquaint yourself by post.
