CMAT (Common Management Aptitude Test) is an online computer-based test conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), India for admission to AICTE approved MBA and the postgraduate diploma in management programs colleges across the country. From 2016, CMAT held once in a year in the month of Jan. Earlier, it used to be held twice a year.

CMAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Graduates in any discipline or Final year students of Graduate Courses can apply for CMAT.

NOTE: The eligibility criteria for admission to Management programs (Diploma and Post-Graduation) is as mentioned below:

Management (PGDM, MBA and similar) - Recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years' duration with at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

Management (PGCM) - Recognised Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years' duration.

Management (Executive PGDM) – Any recognised Bachelors degree of minimum three years' duration and a minimum of 5 years relevant managerial/ supervisory experience, Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination.

CMAT 2023 Application Details

Follow these steps to register for CMAT 2023:

Visit the official website of AICTE-CMAT and sign up as a new user

After completion of registration, the candidate will be provided with a 6-digit password through SMS/ Email

Log on to the website as an existing user by using the login ID and password

Make a payment of INR 1400/- (for General and OBC candidates) and INR 700/- (for ST/ SC/ PD candidates) through online or Debit/ Credit Card/ Net Banking or by submitting a Challan at any of the SBI branches

Candidate can take a printout of the Challan available on the official website of AICTE-CMAT i.e. www.aicte-cmat.in.

After submission of the registration fee, fill up the application form containing personal and academic details of the applicant and click on the “submit button”

Once the registration process is completed, the candidate can download his/her admit card

Application fees detail

The fee for General/ OBC candidates is INR1400 + Bank charges as applicable. The SC/ ST/ PD category candidates need to pay a fee of INR 700 + Bank charges as applicable.

Candidates can pay registration fee either Online (Credit / Debit cards / Net banking) or by Depositing cash in any State Bank of India (SBI) branch.

CMAT 2023 is likely to have a total 100 objective type questions which will cover Quantitative Techniques, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, and Language Comprehension. 

For each correct answer, there are four marks, for each wrong answer one mark shall be deducted.

There will be more than 1000 colleges which accept CMAT scores across India.
