St. Ann's college for women was established in 1983 with 2 UG courses and 106 students. Today it has emerged as an institution of excellence, enshrining its ideal "Light of Life". The appeal of the college cuts across social, financial, cultural and linguistic barriers. Placement
The placement cell is involved in career guidance and organizes campus interviews to select graduates from all disciplines. It provides the infra-structure to support every stage of placement activity. The placement cell organizes coaching classes for aptitude tests, presentations and workshops for the students registered with the placement cell. The organizations are contacted and brochures are put up on the notice boards. Arrangements for pre-placement talks, written tests, interviews, group discussions, etc., are made as per the requirements of the organizations. Final year student have to register with placement cell. Over 70% of the students registered in the placement cell are placed every year in different organizations.
Infrastructures
The college is housed in a 4 acre campus with spacious, well-furnished class-rooms, well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Micro-biology, Genetics, Nutrition, Bio-chemistry, Bio-Technology, Psychology and a Museum. A modern state-of-the-art computer centerΒ is located in a fully air-conditioned block. There is a large acoustically treated auditorium,Β spacious audio-visual rooms, well-furnished conference hall and a seperateΒ block to accommodate the P.G. Courses.Β Language teaching is aided byΒ theΒ wellΒ equipped language labs for English andΒ French.Β Smart boardsΒ andΒ LCDs add to the learning experience at St.Annβs.The digital display boards installedΒ in the corridorsΒ show the latest updates of the events in the campus.
