Placement Cell

The School of Excellence in Law (SOEL) was established in the year 2002. It offers five year integrated law degree course Viz. B. A. B. L. (Hons). It was primarily intended to provide quality legal education on parwith the National Law Schools in the country. The course stress is laid more on how to make the law students professionally competent. The database of the IV and V year students of SOEL in readily available. 

In order to make a niche in legal education, The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University has established a student – industry interface Centre (SIIC) for opening more avenues in the legal sphere. We already do have the credit of reputed banks and leading law firms in our database. Our first batch of Post Graduate students specialised in Business Law has been recruitment by banks through Campus interview last year. 

As part of internship programme, our students are given inputs to the needs of the Industry. Lot of students in the 6th and 7th Semester have been absorbed by various law firms and few serving to the Hon’ble High Court Judges, Chennai. At this juncture, we look forward in creating better avenues apart from professional practices, joining hands with Corporate, IT mayos, MNC’s. It is our proud privilege to announce that our placement Cell awaits formal inauguration.

Quality of teaching is average

The quality and standard of teaching is below expectation. The classes are held regular but the knowledge imparted is not as expected. The college is recruiting a lot of new faculty members and experimenting with the senior students although the faculty appointed are not equipped enough.

Amazing place for an aspiring lawyer

My college is definitely a platform not just to learn law but to grow as a person. The environment has been very conducive. The management encourages student participation in cultural, sports as well as moot court forums. The rules are neither too strict nor do we feel let loose.

About SOEL - The best Law college

Very good library, impeccable teachers, disciplined students, incredible atmosphere and lectures by learned advocates. They patronise extracurricular activities like NCC, NSS, sports and cultural events, mentorship programs. Parliamentary debates are also conducted.

Review on School of Excellence in Law

(ALREADY SUBMITTED A REVIEW FOR THE SAME UNIVERISTY) It's one of the first law schools in Chennai after the Government Law School, I would say that they have tried improving the campus experience of late but fail to receprocate with equally good staffs and teaching facilities. If the quality of teaching methodology improves we'd be #1 law school in South India.

Good but definite scope for improvement.

(ALREADY SUBMITTED A REVIEW FOR THE SAME UNIVERSITY) The college is probably the best one for law in the city. But that's not good enough. Permanent staff is brilliant. Guest faculty, not so much. But the teachers are always very encouraging and helpful when you go to them for advice. The teaching aspect of the subjects are also very theoretical, the college definitely needs to facilitate more practical knowledge seminars based on drafting, mooting, how to present a paper, what career options etc. rather than continuously concentrating on the studies aspect of it. The canteen is boring. Very mediocre compared to many other colleges. It's stuffy inside and not much variety or stalls. Infrastructure is good. It's bigger than the previous campus. There is a lack of trees but through time, hopefully the number will increase. Huge parking lot of all the vehicles and bikes. The library is very well stocked. Though the college is far, there is good connectivity, as the train station is right in front of college. Overall, the college is good but has a lot of scope. There is a good mix of students and teachers from different backgrounds to different abilities and disabilities so that is very encouraging to see.
