National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT) was established in 1966 under the UNDP program to oblige the need of a substantial number of specialists. The specific accentuation was on Foundry and Forge technology to meet the demand of prepared labor in the essential metal assembling segments like car, overwhelming designing, machine and segment producing and so forth. Two carefully planned propelled confirmation courses, in particular Foundry and Forge innovation were advertised.

In view to push forward the learning limit, four M Tech projects were introduced in the core areas of Foundry and Forge innovation. Hence, two B Tech programs, one in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and other in Manufacturing Engineering, were acquainted with fortify the center structure of foundry and fashioning innovation with the information of materials and assembling to cook the developing need of the businesses.

The forward looking attempt, sought after throughout the years, has developed a four level scholastic structure in NIFFT including propelled certificate, B Tech, M Tech and doctoral program with an adjusted accentuation on preparing, instruction and research. The parceling among the subject spaces has been intentionally kept away from with the target of sharing offices and skill in seeking after close net-shape part innovation as an interesting learning area. Such mood of preparing and training has pulled in light of a legitimate concern for the potential managers and enlarged the employability of understudies at all the levels.

An engineering college where you learn everything, except engineering!

National Institute of Foundry & Forge Technology is a college having less than 800 students on the campus, it is a close KNIT family. Most classes can be easily bunked (some of my friends have not attended classes for entire session) and passing exams are quite easy (either join group study, the night before an exam or straining your eyes during the exam). Questions are mostly repeated from old papers, which one can easily get access through by befriending seniors. Due to small strength, everyone gets ample opportunity to show skills and participate or lead in different events. All clubs found in IITs are present here (unless got extinct due to lack of participants). The placements are decent (almost all passing students have a job offer), though the package offered are average (approx. 25k). You do have opportunities to develop your personality and polish your managerial, communication and leadership skills. A college life which you will thoroughly enjoy and where even small efforts get handsomely rewarded (lack of competition due to small batch size). A college with good reputation which you could join if u don't get a seat in coveted IIT's or NIT's.

A very nice college in the capital of Jharkhand

Foundry and Forge sector, owing to their consistent leadership in the global market over the years, fit best in the β€˜Make in India’ endeavor. Both the sectors provide the large employment and are rapidly embracing the acquired potential in materials engineering and computer-based modeling, simulation and design. The campus is adorable. The lack of a nice cafeteria is a bit of concern but still its a nice place to hangout.
