Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Karad is affiliated to Shivaji University. In spite of several good conditioned colleges in Karad, the high turn of girls from the high school warranted women's college to meet the expectation of learning girls. The decision and implementation of it has stood up to the test of time and today Mahila Mahvidyalaya – a senior college affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, almost more than 1160 students in Arts and commerce faculties. In addition there are 1300 girl student in Tilak High School and Junior College in the faculties of Arts, and commerce and science.
