Indian Maritime University (TS Chanakya) is loctaed in Navi Mumbai, Mahrashtra. The institute became operational on 1st August 1993 and teaches the cadets the new order but also makes them upholders of the old ones. The campus of T. S. CHANAKYA is about 40 acres in area and is situated in Navi Mumbai, about one hour run from Mumbai by train. The campus adjoins the Northern extremity of Mumbai Harbour and is completely free from industrial and noise pollution. At present, there are five buildings- hostel, scholastic block, administrative block, electric sub-station and a workshop building. The institute provides quality education with experienced faculty members.  A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students at Indian Maritime University (TS Chanakya), Navi Mumbai. T. S. Chanakya is also poised to conduct other modular courses such as Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), Elementary First Aid, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities and Personal Survival Techniques. All efforts are made to identify the needs of the shipping industry and the training is accordingly modified. All the cadets who have passed out have been usefully employed by various shipping companies and have been rendering yeoman service.
