In view of the advancements in the information technology in aid to scientific researches, the Institute advantageously established an Electronic Data Processing (EDP) unit. It is equipped with the state-of-art computing facilities, which is constantly upgraded. Initially the unit had 64KBPS leased line internet connection in the Institute, commissioned with the domain name "rmptc.org". Local area Network (LAN) provides Internet access in the Institute with 16 nodes.

Library

The library of the Institute is one of the finest libraries on palaeobotanical literature in the world.The Library subscribes for about national and international journals. The Institute regularly distributes reprints of its publications and exchange of reprints is also encouraged. Students can borrow books from library for reference study and increase their knowledge.
