This technical campus offering undergraduate and post graduate courses under West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), approved by AICTE is located in one of the prime locations in North Kolkata near Sodepur. The Institute offers cutting-edge technology, NBA accredited streams and gives precedence to research initiatives undertaken by both the faculty members and the students to enrich and enhance the teaching learning process. This approach equips the students in keeping pace with the dynamic evolution of science and technology both in academics and industry. Situated at a location where transportation facility is very good

GNIT is good for engineering studies. It provides B.Tech (CSE, IT, ECE, EE, AEIE, FT), Diploma and BHM (Bachelor of Hospital Management). It has a good infrastructure and green campus with a playground. Provides hostel facility for boys and girls. Girls hostel is situated inside the campus but boys hostels are outside the campus. Here teachers are very helpful and try to solve every problem of the students. Now let's come to the main point i.e. campus placement. GNIT comes under JIS group. So, students are provided pool campusing where 5 colleges participate along with GNIT. In the year 2016-17 till date the major companies visited are ITC infotech, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Zensar and lots of other small companies. But the no. of students got placed is not that much satisfactory. Even companies like TCS or CTS didn't come for recruitment.
