Department of Urdu & Persian, School of Languages is affiliated to Gujarat University. The college offers Master course and certificate course. Persian Department was established in 1964 .Formerly Department was arranged in B.J.Institute of Learning and Research Center. Late Prof. Abu Zafar Nadvi was the founder. He was a great scholar of Persian , Arabic and Urdu. His contribution is in the field of “History” especially in the History of Gujarat based on origin sources. Then second Great Name is of Late Dr. Chhotu bhai Nayak. He compiled Persian Gujarati Dictionary. He also compiled a book “ Gujarati Uper Arabi Farsi Ni Asar
