Department of Tamil is established under Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Institute of Science & Technology. The Department of Tamil is equipped with a good collection of classics and modern library texts for reference and lending and the faculty consists of four PhDs and a good number of M.Phils, of whom several are actively engaged in research leading to Ph.D. Comparative literature and Translation studies will be the highlighted area of this fore running language department.
