Department of Statistics initially established from the very childhood days of the West Bengal State University in 2008, has its roots to the days of the university in the Barasat Govt. College. The fast changing technological scenario poses a challenge to the University to provide state of the art education to the students, to be better prepared for tomorrow. The Department of Statistics at West Bengal State University has continually been striving for excellence in teaching and research. The department has established itself, since the inception of the University, as one of the reputed departments in the University.
