The Physics department was established in 1981. Since Inception, the Department of Physics has been engaged in focused research in the areas of Photonics and Nuclear Physics. The courses are designed to equip the students with solid foundation in fundamentals of Physics. Courses are created in such a way that they are interdisciplinary in nature.  For the last few years, focused effort has been made to develop education, research and training in the areas of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The Department now has facilities to synthesize and characterize the Nano materials for specific application of interest.
