Department of Mathematics, Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute mission is to inculcate the students of Engineering & Technology for using their right mathematical skills which in turn make them highly successful in applying their knowledge of Engineering during their careers. College for not so ambitious aspirants;teaching quality and infrastructure is not up to the standards

The college is located in IT hub of Chennai.The infrastructure and facilities is not as per the standards of a deemed university.The teaching staff of the college is ordinary and it is up to the student to understand the concepts. In Computer Science course , the practical classes and course delivery was not as per the standards. Most of the students had low percentage in their 10th and 12th and were ordinary in performance in academic as well. The CGPA allotment process is haphazard and many of below average students were able to score high marks in college exam.
