Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024The Department of Linguistics was established under UGC 6th plan grants. This is the only department in the state of Orissa to offer two years M.A. and PhD program in Linguistics. The department introduced one year Post Graduate Diploma course in Russian Language (DRL). The department keeps updating the syllabus to suit the needs of the students and modernize the course. The department has introduced two compulsory papers in Communicative English in M.A Linguistics course to make the course more jobs oriented.

The department’s infrastructure is well furnished with all modern facilities.

All the classrooms of the department are well furnished with all modern facilities.
Laboratory
The hardware facilities of the Centre at present include adequate number of PCs, a Line Printer, a number of Dot Matrix Printers and an Internet system including VSAT antenna and a Server.
Library
Central library is available. At present there are 96997 books/7752 rare and antique books and 33,000 back volumes of Journals. The Library also subscribes to 26 journals and 22 news papers. Its membership extends mainly to students, scholars, teachers and employees of the University which at present stands at 2,482.
