Department of Kannada is a part of Karnatak University Dharwad. The department offers education in the field of Arts. Department vision is to achieve development of individual personality and social development by creation and studying Kannada literature. And department mission is Literature, both written and oral discourses must not be confined only to the participants in the academia but the knowledge must be utilized and extended beyond its limits to help and work parallel to the overall development of society. Everyone must have a place to participate in it. The aim thereby is to inculcate the seminal idea that Humanity is one in order to create egalitarian society.
