Department of English is the part of  Maulana Azad National Urdu University. The objective of the Department of English is to create an advanced level of Proficiency among the students so that they are enabled to become active participants in the linguistic and humanistic culture that is developing all over the world. The Department of English aims to cultivate a mindset of curiosity and analytical / critical outlook among the learners. With a view of facilitate these aims, the Department runs M.Phil and part time Ph.D. Programs apart from the M.A. Program.
