Department of Econometrics is a part of University of Madras and Accredited by NAAC with Grade 'A'. The Department of Econometrics was established by bifurcating the parent Department of Economics into the Departments of Economics and Econometrics. Since its inception, the department has focused on teaching and research in quantitative economics emphasizing theoretical, methodological and conceptual issues in economics along with applications to socially relevant economic issues and policies.
