The department have laboratory with well-equipped instruments of Blood testing Apparatus and solution ,Hot air oven, Hot air oven, Autoclave, Light Microscope, PCR, Electrophoresis, Gel documentation unit, Fermenter, Calorimeter, UV Vis Spectrophotometer, Colony counter, Deep freezer (-35oC), High speed centrifuge, Orbital Shaker, Water bath shaker, Vacuum evaporator and other basic instruments for microbiological aspects.

Library

Periyar University Library is functioning with 50020 volumes of books, 1982 back volumes, 1618 Ph.D. & M.Phil. Theses, 1355 CDs and 806 reports. The Library is subscribing 194 periodicals and 11 Newspapers.
