Department of Animal Breeding & Genetics is affiliated to Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University. Department's mission is to train students majoring in animal Breeding and Genetics to become competent Animal Breeders and Animal Geneticists for serving the teaching and research organizations, and the livestock sector. The Department is also running research projects on the genetic improvement on dairy cattle, buffaloes, layers, broilers and Japanese quails. The department is also having a Reproduction Biotechnology Unit for developing the technologies of embryo transfer to enhance the genetic improvement of dairy cattle and buffaloes.
