The college was commenced in the year 1984 for strengthening young generation in the field of engineering & technology. DCET is managed by the Dar-Us-Salam Educational Trust (DET), which was established in the year 1974. The College is affiliated to Osmaina Univerity & approved by All India Council for technical Education (AICTE) for its all programmes. DCET trained its students through interactive and advanced education. The faculty of the college provides robust support to its students and always try to integrate advanced technology in their learning. The objective of the College is to develop an inventive thinking in the minds of all its students, so that they can make contribution in the society. The mission of the college is to identify, scientifically evaluate and implement proven, prevention oriented, forward-looking solutions to critical scientific and technological problems and bring technical education of international standard within the reach of all and uplift the weaker Muslim minority community in particular.

Placement
The fully developed training & Placement cell (TPC) of the college foster students for the top leading firms. The TPC of the College is managed by the Mr.Mohammed Muzammil Khan. The placement cell prepare final year students through excellent training, which includes a professional resume , giving training for group discussion and conducting mock interviews to develop the confidence in students. The vision of the department is to link a bridge between the corporate and the students of this college.
Infrastructures
The campus of the Deccan College of Engineering and Technology is located in the city of Nawab, Hyderabad. The bonny atmosphere of the campus is well adjusted with the academics, which makes learning favourable for its students. The well building of the college is well equipped with spacious classrooms, library, separate labs for each department, seminar halls, english labs and advance learning centre.
Classroom
Deccan College of Engineering and Technology classrooms are fully air-conditioned and well equipped with all modern audio-visual instruments like projectors, whiteboards, Wi-Fi connectivity and Public Addressing Systems. The facilities make learning conducive for the students and provide more practical knowledge about their programmes.

The college has a Computer Center that is one of the best in twin cities. The center has fully air-conditioned floor area of 6000sq .ft. and most modern hardware and software facilities.

The library of the college is warehouse of knowledge, extended in ana area of 766 sq with a seating capacity of more than 200 students. The library of the college is packed with various resources, fully computerized assisting students in accessing data with amenities like web-enabled, Linux operating systems, Virus free, Window Server, bar coded technology for issue and return of books.
