Zero-Tolerance to Ragging Repeatedly Enforced at ITM, Gurgaon

In order to continue to remain ragging free, the committee constituting of the Officiating Vice Chancellor- Brij SK Sharma (Retd), the Registrar, various faculty members, University’s hostel administration representatives, police, NGO, media, parents and students were a part of the discussion organized at ITM on 16th July, 2015.

The IMT University has had an unblemished record of zero percent tolerance for ragging. There has not been a single incident of ragging in the University since its inception.

The members were made aware of the various orders from the UGC, Government of Haryana and the Hon’ble Supreme Court on the subject of ragging. They were all informed that ragging is a cognizable offense and an FIR has to be filed for each incident of ragging.

"Ragging" is an act which causes or is likely to cause insult or annoyance or fear or apprehension or threat of intimidation or outrage of the modesty or injury to a student in any form.
