So, I have been pretty nostalgic these days. As I make a transition from school to college, every single event associated with school bring back many sweet memories – the school uniform, the ID card, the books and much more! My mind has gone into the mode of being verbose. It is working itself up to a nostalgic level. Rather, it is pushing me to the verge of writing out long pages on what I miss now in my life. In short I have been too verbose in what I write, these days! So, here I go:
Word of the Day: Verbose
Meaning: Talkative, rambling, and lengthy.
Usage: Commonly, it is used as an adjective, though it isn’t in much play these days!
Why is it so interesting?
To while away the time, I have been choosing books from my bookshelf. The first shelf contains all the Enid Blyton books whom I have always been an ardent fan of. I desired to start from my childhood favourites, so Enid Blyton mystery series was on my top priority checklist! So, as I picked the book ‘The Mystery of Holly lane’, I came across the word ‘Verbose’. The moment when Fatty (Frederick Algernon Trotteville) asks Mr Goon not to be too verbose and to come to the point at once is priceless. Following his utterance of the word, Mr Goon is nonplussed. He is determined to search for this word in the dictionary as he is sure it is something rude!
So, have I been too ‘verbose’?
