As I continue stumbling along the rather unpredictable road of life, I cannot truly define myself yet. But I can unleash a few pointers. And what better defines you than the books you like?
“Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.”
It all began with good old Harry Potter. And the plague hasn’t been cured ever since.
I’m not ashamed of the fact that I cried like a baby when Dobby died or that I have a thing for books that smell good.
19th century London-based romance novels are my own personal Portkeys to a reverie. A handsome Duke or two is the only ‘drug’ I need and then for days I’m found ‘hung-over’, re-reading the same book with a whisper of a smile across my face. Usually followed by a wistful sigh, inwardly yearning for characters that breathe only on paper. I mean, who doesn’t do that?
Then come the books that make you ‘think’. Some of my absolute favourites would include, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The Book Thief and most recently, the overly popular, The Fault In Our Stars. Some books really get to you, as a person. They cling to your heart and become a part of you.
Precisely why words amaze me so much, our most inexhaustible source of magic…
Since the word limit severely confines me, I stop here.
Though fear not, my readers! I shall be back to make you love me even more! ;)
