UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination (IFS) 2015: Last Date to Apply is June 19

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting applications from eligible candidates who wish to take the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2015, also knows as Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), to be able to get shortlisted for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination 2015.

The Indian Forest Service Examination involves two successive stages:

(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for short listing candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination;

(ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for short listing candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2014 is scheduled to be conducted on August 23, 2015.

The deadline to apply for the same is June 19, 2015.

After the results of Preliminary Examination are announced, qualified candidates will have to apply again, in the Online Detailed Application Form for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. The form is made available on the UPSC website.

Eligibility

• Candidates should have a bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology from a recognised University.

             Or

• in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from a recognised University.

• Age should be between 21 to 32 years as on August 1, 2015.
