It’s time to applaud for the winner, Raghav Chawla and his team.
The ability to think out-of-the-box helped the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) student and his team mates.
They beat more than 100 students at the Total Summer School, organized by TOTAL Oil in Paris, France and earn the top spot in the competition.
Students were asked to think about potential scenarios that would change the world. They had to look into their distant future and present their interpretation of what the world would look like in the next 30 years.
All 112 participants were divided into teams and developed compelling presentations to get the buy-in of the panel of judges for their idea.
The seven-member panel of judges included Jerome Schmitt, senior vice president of sustainable energy and development at TOTAL Oil.
The winning team’s presentation was titled, "What if oil demand does not increase as predicted?"
Speaking about the win, Chawla, a power system engineering student at UPES, commented that, “It was a great opportunity for students to speak their mind on what they think the future will be.” Schmitt made special mention of the team for having most logical vision of tomorrow among those in the competition.
