The admission procedure for University of Calcutta has begun on July 8, 2013 for admission to M.A. /M. Sc (Eco)(Day) & M.Com - day & evening courses.
Bengali, English, Linguistics, Pali, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic & Persian, French, Tamil Studies, History, Ancient Indian History & Culture, Islamic History & Culture, Archaeology, Museology, Philosophy, Pol. Science, Sociology, Economics , South & South East Asian Studies, Education & Commerce.

In addition to the main eligibility criteria, students will need to carry:
Self attested copies of:
- B.A. / B.Sc/ B.Com Part 1 , Part II & Part III mark sheets.(Hons.)
- SC/ST certificate (SC/ST certificate issued by the competent Govt. Officers only)
- SC/ ST of other States will not be considered as per the WB Govt. order
Original copies of:
- Differently-abled certificate from the competent authority
- Sports certificate for sports Quota only
Things to remember:
For M. Com - Preference for Day or Evening should be stated clearly in the application form
For Allied subjects - Order of preference to be mentioned in the application form (Options once exercised cannot be changed)

* For 40% of the seats,
- Students be admitted on the basis of a MCQ test on OMR sheet either with 50 questions each carrying 2 marks or adhering to the standardized format of MCQ test of the university, whichever is applicable;
- Negative marks & cut off marks will be applicable if necessary.
- Distribution of Marks : For each correct answer 2 marks, for wrong answer minus 0.5 marks; and not attempted 0 (zero) marks will be awarded.
- If there is a tie of marks obtained in the written entrance test amongst the candidates than the candidates with less negative marking will be placed in higher position in the merit list than the other candidate.
