The University of Mumbai to investigate the paper leak scandal

On Wednesday, Mumbai University’s board of examinations decided in a meeting that Agarwal College, which is one of exam centres, must start a departmental investigation against those responsible for the leak of an exam. The Human Resources Management (HRM) question paper was leaked by the final year Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) students on April 4.

A press statement issued late Wednesday by Mumbai University said that Agarwal college, from where the paper was reported to have been leaked, should submit an action taken report to the university following the enquiry.

However, university will decide whether a re-examination should be held for the students by Saturday. Dean of Faculty of Science, along with the chairperson of panel of paper setter will decide whether to conduct re-exam or not. The officials assured that the final decision will be taken within 48 hours to ensure that students will not have to face any kind of inconvenience.

According to the sources, an image of the HRM question paper, which was taken by the TY B.Com students, was uploaded on the mobile application Whatsapp and forwarded to the other students. Two committees have been appointed so far by the university to investigate the whole matter.
