University of Allahabad will organise national workshop in National Centre of Experimental Mineralogy and Petrology (NCEMP). The topic of the workshop is on High P-T Techniques for Material Synthesis and Characterization.
It's a seven days workshop, which will start from November 23, 2015 and ending on November 29, 2015. The national workshop will emphasises on experimental demonstrations of different synthesis/characterization techniques at high pressures-temperatures based on the state of the art facilities and expertise available:
- Walker-type Multi-anvil HP-HT Apparatus (up to 20 GPa),
- Kennedy-type Piston Cylinder HP-HT Apparatus,
- Tuttle-type Hydrothermal Apparatus,
- Electron Probe Micro Analyzer (EPMA),
- Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM),
- Powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) Technique,
- Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR),
- Electrical Conductivity (EC),
- Ultrasonic wave velocity (USWV),
- Magnetic Susceptibility (MS) Measurements,
- Sample powdering by Planetary Ball Mill,
- Sol-Gel Synthesis,
- Polymer Film preparation Technique and
- Glass & Ceramic Synthesis Techniques.
