Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Indian Forest Service (Main) Exam 2014 – Interview Begins!

Union Public Service Commission has launched the e-summon letters (Interview phone call letters) for the candidates who cleared the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2014(IFS (Mains) 2014) on their official website. The personality test of the candidates is scheduled between February 2 to 12, 2015 in the forenoon as well as afternoon session.

Aspirants need to note that UPSC will not send any kind of e-summon letters by post. The candidates are being educated with E-Summon letter, E-mail as well as SMS at their corresponding addresses.

The IFS (Mains) was carried out on November 22, 2014. It was carried out in 2 sessions; forenoon and afternoon session.

Points to remember:

• Candidates should note that the Government has changed the pattern of Indian Forest Service Examination from the examination year 2013 by introducing a component of screening mechanism through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination. All the candidates applying for Indian Forest Service examination are therefore required to appear in the Civil Services (Preliminary) examination and qualify the same for going to the second stage of Indian Forest Service (Main) examination (Written & Interview).
• Candidates willing to apply for Indian Forest Service examination as well as for the Civil Services examination can apply via common online application form subject to meeting the requisite eligibility criteria by them.

Indian Forest Service (IFS) mains was conducted at the following centers: Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Dispur (Guwahati), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Port Blair and Shimla. Approximately 86 vacancies were expected to be filled on the basis of the results of the examination.
