Taking a cue from the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the University Grants Commission (UGC) has uploaded the answer keys of the UGC-NET 2012 examination on its website, and sought feedback from the public.
Wrong questions, accounting for as many as 14 marks, were detected after the IITs uploaded answer keys of its IIT-JEE 2012 (Joint Entrance Examination) for the first time this year.

The UGC, also a central government education organisation, decided to follow the IITs’ exampleby uploading answer keys to its National Eligibility Test (NET)— which deals with the appointment of assistant professors and awarding of junior research fellowships.
"It will bring about more transparency and accountability in the NET examination," said UGC chairperson Ved Prakash.
After receiving feedback on the answer keys, the UGC will seek expert opinion on whether the marking scheme should be changed or not.
"Sometimes, there may be some difference of opinion on what is the correct answer in the objective-type question paper," Prakash said.
The UGC expects to declare the results of the UGC-NET examination by the middle of September 2012, as against the usual deadline of late October — once experts submit their report.
More than 5.5 lakh students appeared for the national exam conducted on 24 June 2012.
