It is surprisingly funny how a single mistake can change the very way you have always perceived something. Sometimes the simplest of things prove most insightful.
I was doing a few physics problems just to check if I do remember even ‘ittu-sa’ bit of what I learnt of pulleys and point charges over the years.
And while doing a question on mechanics, I stumbled. It wasn’t as if I did not know how to reach the answer. I sure as hell did. And perhaps because of that I became a bit laid-back. And whoosh, all of a sudden I arrived at the wrong answer.
This experience taught me something very important. Three things actually.
1. Never take anything for granted-complacency breeds failure.
2. When pursuing any goal, always have your blinders on. Focus is the key to succeeding in any endeavor.
3. Any question related to mechanics can be solved by making the Force Diagram (science thing :P)
The first two intellectually stimulating observations are actually a result of me sitting idle for half an hour philosophizing my mistake. Perhaps a bit of an exaggerated response to a simple mistake on my part you may feel. But let me tell you the honest truth of life.
It never feels good to be wrong. EVER.
