Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM-I) organised a customized Management Development Programme (MDP) for State Bank of India (SBI) on “Agile Information Technology Project Management Methodologies” at their Mumbai Campus. This programme was designed to impart expertise to SBI executives in the Agile IT Methodologies and Project Management, keeping in mind that today, when 50 percent of the industry has already moved to Agile and is expected to touch 80 percent by 2022, IT managers need to understand the nitty-gritties of agile management. The programme was conducted by Professor N M K Bhatta, Faculty IIM Indore, an expert in this domain. This two-day programme was held at IIM Indore, Mumbai Campus on September 11 and 12. Deputy Managing Director and Chief Information Officer of State Bank of India, Mrutyunjay Mahapatra envisions to take IT in SBI to a higher level, and for this, he emphasized the need for the collaboration of eminent academicians from IIMs and experts in the banking industry. “As disruptive technology are developing, it is imperative to use new and innovative ways of IT design”, he said.
