I used to be the ideal child once. I studied for most part of the day, had no television addiction (In fact I did not have a cable connection) , did not have a Facebook account, no smartphone and most importantly I slept by 10.30 pm. The only bad habit I had was that I was a messy eater.
Welcome to post final exams era. Nothing has remained the same. Except for perhaps my extreme dislike for homemade food. I think they should change that old saying to ‘Old bad habits die hard’.
So as I was saying, today I am a completely reformed person. I laze around and watch T.V all day, whilst constantly checking for any Facebook notifications on my smartphone. (in my defence there is a book in Facebook!)
I have transformed into a night owl. I sleep no earlier than 1.00 am at night (or is it morning?) and awake no earlier than 10.00 am.
Needless to say, my new habits have caused my parents considerable stress. But oddly enough, they don’t stop me-even though I am scolded quite often.
It is perhaps the knowledge that once college starts I will be back to my good old ways that makes them go easy on me. And it’s true, I am having the time of my life these days because I know the total freedom I am currently enjoying is short lived. Once the grind of college starts I will have only memories to cherish.
P.S- I think its safe to say that parents love their kids regardless of their habits ;)
