TIFR Graduate School Admission 2017 Begins

The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai has started inviting applications from aspirants seeking admission in post graduate degrees offered at TIFR for academic session 2022-18.

TIFR offers following post graduate courses:

• PhD
• MSc (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer and System Sciences, Science Education)
• Integrated MSc-PhD

TIFR Graduate School Admission 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for TIFR post graduate courses should have the following degrees basis the choice of programme:

Mathematics-

• PhD Application: M.A./M.Sc./M.Tech
• PhD Integrated Application: B.A./B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech

Physics-

• PhD Application: M.Sc./M.S. in Physics of duration not less than 5 years in total
• PhD Integrated Application: M.E/M.Tech/B.Sc./B.S./B.E./B.Tech/B.Chem.in Physics or Engineering Physics of duration not less than 3 years in total.
• Also, any other degree in Science/Engineering/Medicine of duration not less than 3 years in total will also make the candidate eligible to apply.

Chemistry-

• PhD Application: M.Sc./M.Pharm
• PhD Integrated Application: B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharm

Biology-

• PhD Application: Masters in Basic Science/ Bachelors in Applied Science, these include, M.Sc (Ag.), B.Tech, B.E., B.V.Sc., B.Pharma (4 years course), MBBS, BDS, M.Pharma.
• PhD Integrated Application: Bachelor’s in Basic Science
• M.Sc. Wildlife Biology & Conservation: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (with a minimum of 50% in core subjects) and age not exceeding 35 years.

Candidates should note that they will have to appear for TIFR GS entrance exam to be able to get admission in TIFR post graduate courses.

How to Apply for TIFR Graduate School Admission 2022

• Visit the official website of TIFR GS
• Click on ‘Apply Online’ in the ‘Application’ drop-down on the left of the home page
• Read the instructions carefully and click on ‘Click Here’
• Create a login or submit already registered username and password
• Fill the TIFR GS Entrance Exam application form 2022
• Pay the TIFR GS application fees online
• Submit the complete application form and keep a copy for future references

Candidates are recommended not to make multiple registrations for the same subject.

TIFR GS Fellowship

PhD Students receive Rs.25,000/-  as monthly fellowship, whereas Rs.16,000/-  are allotted to I-PhD students as monthly fellowship for the first year. 

At the end of the first year, the I-PhD fellowship is enhanced to Rs.25,000/- per month upon satisfactory performance.

For M.Sc. (Biology), sStudents receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 12000/-.
