PG Journalism and Mass Communication Department of Doaba College, Jalandhar in collaboration with World Punjabi Television Radio Academy organized the 3rd World Punjabi Media Conference on January 15-16 2015.
The mega event marked the presence of 20 delegates from Australia, New-Zealand, Canada and India and presented their papers in the first session and 58 delegates along with 150 students participated on the first day.
The salient feature of the conference is that the outcome of the conference will be converted into a book for future references.

- Burning topic like today’s Punjabi media with people, social media and its impact, Punjabi films, accountability of media in healthy democratic structure, introspection of media, Punjabi theatre and Punjabi songs full of lewd and violent lyrics were discussed

Day 2:
- The day started with Head of Department of JMC welcomed all the delegates followed by
- Dr. Parminder Singh read his paper on print media and the flow of internet.
- Kuljeet kaur read the paper on Punjabi music channels and singing.
- Sukhnaib Singh Sidhu discussed about online media
- Dr. Navjot Kaur thrower light on the Punjabi language and media.
- Prof. Priya Chopra and Vijeyata Taneja read papers on Punjabi cinema and international coverage in Punjabi newspapers respectively.
- Dr. Simran Kaur Sidhu told about the survey done by her on the reading habits of newspapers among different people.
Immediately after the paper reading session, a face discussion session in which many students asked their queries to the scholars and gain valuable knowledge and knew about carrier opportunities and scope of Punjabi journalism nationally and internationally.
The session ended with Prof. Manav’s vote of thanks to all the guests. It was a great experience gaining conference and had a lot of eye opening facts that will really help in the coming future.
