Third South Asian History Conference at Punjab University, Patiala in October

Department of History, Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab, is set to organize ‘Third South Asian History Conference’ from October 16, 2015 to October 18, 2015 at Punjabi University Campus. The three day symposium intends to get the historians, academicians and research scholars studying the South Asian Countries namely, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Myanmar to cover the gap in South Asian Historical Studies.

• Religion and Communalism

• Socio-religious reform movements
• Women, Gender and Religion
• Religion and rites related to birth, marriage and death
• Religion and law
• Religion as a stimulus to art, architecture and literature

The soft copy of abstract should contain 500 (maximum), double spaced (in Times New Roman font size 12) written in English is to be sent at sahcpta@gmail.com by August 31, 2015. After examining the abstracts the authors will get notification about the acceptance of papers on September 7, 2015. The last day to deposit the final paper is October 5, 2015. The papers should be limited to 15-20 pages.

All the participants should register themselves before October 8, 2015 with INR 1000/- for Indian Scholars (including accommodation and food for three days) and for scholars from abroad the fee is 50 USD. The registration charges for Indian Researchers is INR 750/- and for researchers from abroad is 30 USD.
