The Union HRD Ministry is conducting Hackathon 2022, a platform for students from all over the country to offer solutions to government’s digital and cyber concerns.
Students will be providing solutions to around 600 problems and concerns of ministries at Hackathon 2022. Students must register before 31st January 2022, to participate in this event. Students will be participating as teams for the event. The final event schedule is yet to be announced.
The students who win will be awarded a chance to work with the HRD ministry. Javedkar said that the union government is aiming at using technology and digital ways of resolving concerns and issues. Giving an example of plagiarism check in PhD thesis, a digital solution called turnitin will be executed.
Numerous requests have been raised by the ministries, such as a mobile application for a real time inventory of blood availability during disasters, having games for the elderly, etc.
The UGC has also raised a request of having some sort of system, which could assist in penalising fake universities. The Environment and Forest ministry has called for a way to analyse the prey and predator situation of a protected area.
Another request has been raised by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) for the development of a crowd-funded answer to outbreak of diseases.
These are just some of the concerns that have been raised. Hackathon is expected to provide a solution driven platform to around 600 such problems and concerns.
