Insouciant, simple, unruffled and gleeful are the adjectives that perfectly describe one’s school life. The transition from this carefree life to a haggard college life is not as simple as it seems to be.
Being the prominent one in the school to an obscure one in the college, leaves every first year student distraught. First year students come in terms with the reality that, college life is not all about euphoria and fun but is also packed with a lot of stress and hassle. All new faces, new mode of teaching, freedom and responsibility together and no old school friend to hold your hand and make you feel comfortable, this is where all the bubbles burst and your life begins.
First year is not that easy, but it is that part of your college life which you will cherish forever. This is the phase where you are likely to make a lot of mistakes, take wrong decisions, trust wrong people, feel lonely and depressed, but you must know that you are going through one of the best journeys of your life. This will teach you some worthwhile lessons that will help you to grow and fathom life more closely.
Do not haste for recognition and fame. The best way to deal with all the coercion around you is to give yourself some time. If you have competence and talent, you would be discerned. Do not be disheartened and never give up, the beginning is always the hardest. Take all your failures in your stride and make a mark for yourself. And before you lose hope, always remember “our greatest weakness lies in giving up, the most certain way to succeed is always to try, just one more time.”
