Social Activity at Independence Day by Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore

In the midst of August we celebrate Independence Day of India. All the organisations and institutions commemorate this national fest with zest. Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore added feather to the national carnival.

Club Entrepreneurship Cell of engineering college S.G.S.I.T.S celebrated the Independence Day by going to a slum area nearby Bengali Square. Members of the forum communicated with the slum children and enlightened them about importance of education in life. They also articulated people about various government schemes that will benefit them as well as their small businesses carried out by them to earn their livelihood. The members also stated them about the skill development programme run by the government.

Tanay Karmarkar of E-Cell snitched that this was the first social initiative by the club that also promoted social entrepreneurship. The programme ended with distribution of sweets among the people. The village people were very happy receiving sweets from these scholars. The young students got to know about the lifestyle of these poor people and the problems they face in their day to day life.

This act was an initiative for the students to provide a helping hand in a best possible way they can provide to these people and their kids who are deprived of education due to scarcity and lack of resources in their local area.
