SKIT: Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day was celebrated with fervor at Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology.

On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, the flag was hoisted by the chief patron of SKIT, Shri. Raja Ram Meel. The event was also graced by the presence of Vice Chairman, Shri Anil Bafna, Principal sir, Dr. S.L. Surana, Registrar SKIT, Smt. Rachna Meel and HOD, Mech. Dept. Prof. N.K. Banthia.

The hosts for the day were Rajdeep Sukhwal and Shipra Joshi, who enlightened the students by the facts. They touched the hearts of the audience by reciting the patriotic poems about Jallianwala Bagh, our independence day and Mother India from the collection of poems by renowned poets and true patriots, amassed by Tanvi Arora.

As a responsible citizen of India, we must understand that Independence Day isn't about just celebrating a holiday but about appreciating and valuing the sacrifices of all the freedom fighters of India. It also involves respecting every citizen of the country, regardless of their religion, sentiments or gender. Someday, we will live by the idea of 'live and let live' and come to the aid of fellow Indians, in time of need.

Just by saying things like ‘I Love my Country’ is not going to help anyone, what we need to do as citizens of this country is to ensure that we develop an independent thought, to be free-willed and that we start to think and act as responsible and educated citizens. Every year, on the occasion of Independence Day, every person should take an oath towards what they are doing for the country.
