SET 2012 was conducted on 5th May 2012 in 18 cities across India. The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate institutes of Symbiosis International University (SIU). SIU has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is an autonomous body of University Grants Commission (UGC) with highest Grade 'A'.

Clearing SET 2012 is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process.

• SET-2012 had 5 different papers namely General, Design, Law, Engineering and Health Sciences.
• The test was be conducted in two sessions, Morning and Afternoon.
• A candidate could take more than one paper. However he could choose one paper from morning session and one paper from afternoon session.
