Seminar for Stock-Mind Competition at Jaipuria Institute of Management by ICICI Securities Ltd

Higher the risk – higher the return is the basic rule of stock market, to understand it in a better way, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore had Mr. Nihal Khan, currently a part of ICICI direct-center as regional manager for Financial Learning. The session was coordinated by Miss Tanu Sharma.

ICICI direct Centre for Financial Learning (ICFL) has launched a contest- Stock-MIND season 4 as its CSR activity with an objective of spreading the awareness of stock market among the students. This contest is dealing with the real market with virtual money of Rupees 15 lakhs. It has 2 levels i.e., level 1 intra college for 7 days. Winner will be recognized at national level and will reach to the level 2. The winner will be awarded a sum of Rupees 1 lakhs.

The session dealt with the basics of stock market, its fundamentals and its mechanism. According to Mr. Khan stock market is not gambling. It’s only a myth. He gave statistical data and CAGR data to make students aware about the growth of 17.7% in equity market in the last 30 years which is the highest growth rate in the investment market. 

Mr. Khan carried his session with an audio video presentation making the session interesting. He gave examples of CCD and Indigo who had brought their IPO in the recent months. The session came to an end with the question and answer round. And Mr. Khan asked the students to register for the contest.

The session was great learning for the students and gave a virtual platform in the real market to explore the experience in the stock market.
