Self-Defence Workshop organised at Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata

Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata conducted a Two-Day Self-Defence Workshop for girls at its Campus on August 20, 2015 and August 21, 2015. The workshop intended to learn the self-defence techniques and had a session on Discussion and Physical Techniques.

Shihan Shivaji Ganguly, Sensei Shibayan Ganguly (Secretary) and Shyamantak Ganguly (Chief Instructor) were the main trainers. A small clip was projected for the students on why and how they should be self-sufficient. The most important point which was taught in the workshop was, if any one was in trouble the first and foremost priority is to run and should look for ways to escape. Day 1 was concluded with another clip showing the journey of Sensei Shibayan Ganguly to the zenith of success.

The second day of the workshop started with a warm up session and briefing of practices ad kicks and punches, using the equipments available and necessary to carry out the task. The session lasted for two hours where the females were taught various techniques using the common props like umbrella, pen, stick and heels to knock out.
