Script to Screen: 3 Day Workshop on Short Film Making at BESC

Enact Collective of Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC), Kolkata conducted a 3-Day Workshop on Short Film Making entitled ‘Script to Screen’ on September 7, 2015 and September 8, 2015 which was followed by a Competition on Script Writing, Shots and Camera movements, Basic principles of Film Making and Live Shoot on September 15, 2015.

The first day of the Induction Programme was all about the introduction of film making. Numerous topics like script writing and importance of story were highlighted during the workshop. The second day was much focused on pictures and various aspects of pictures. The mentor shared their own experiences and had a detailed analysis of the pictures clicked by the students. Various tactics were discussed to brief the students about the photographic and film making terms. AN interactive session was also carried out by Mr. Debashish, where he cleared all the doubts and queries of the students. 35 students were divided into 7 teams. Each team was asked to show a short film on the final day. The topic given was “LIVE LIFE KING SIZE”.

The third day of the induction programme was conducted on September 15, 2015 with a competition for the participants for the film review. Mr. Debashish analysed each movie presented by the teams participated. The winning team, showed a magnificent silent movie which portrayed the features of a king evaluating his qualities on the basis of his behaviour and character.
