Contributing towards the education of underprivileged children, a 17-year-old school kid in Gurgaon has developed a mobile based gaming application called ‘Rope Dash’ in order to raise money to buy books and stationery items for poor children.

Ranvijay Singh, a student of Suncity School and a resident of South City I, came up with the idea to develop this game after he felt the need to provide slum children with books and stationery. Singh and his friends regularly teach slum children near his home and school.

The game that was launched in July is a never-ending adventure game where players need to cross various obstacles by swinging on a rope. The game is available on both iOS and Android as free and paid version. The money earned from hundreds of downloads of the game in the last two months had led to Singh buying books and stationery for the children.

Talking about reason that inspired him to develop the game, Singh said, “While travelling to school every day, I see a number of children wasting time playing games on roadsides. I wanted to educate them and help them live a good life”.

He also added that he has already earned ‘25% of the investment’ made and plans to procure the complete amount eventually. However, his priority still lies in educating these children.

His family, friends and teachers who use to sit together for long brainstorming sessions to finalise a revenue model and promotion techniques along with teaching the children supported Singh in this venture.

With a vision to widen his reach to educate children across the city, Singh eventually plans to become an entrepreneur.
