State Bank of India (SBI) is inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers (POs) in the bank.
The last date of application for 2,000 vacancies of Probationary Officers (PO) in State Bank of India has been extended from May 2 to May 7, 2015.
To avoid any confusion or or last minute inconvenience, interested candidates must apply at the earliest.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualifications:
- Candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
- Final year graduation students may also apply on the condition that they will have to produce proof of passing the graduation examination on or before September 1, 2015.
- Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before September 1, 2015.
Age Limit:
- Candidates (General category) interested in applying must not be below 21 years and above 30 years as on 1st April, 2015
- Relaxation in age is provided for all the reserved candidates. SC/ST: 05 Years; OBC: 03 Years; Ex Servicemen: 05 Years; PWD (SC/ST)-15 Years; PWD (OBC)- 13 Years; PWD (Gen)- 10 Years
Application Process
- Candidates who wish to apply need to register themselves online through the official website of SBI - www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in.
- The next step is to pay the application fee of Rs 100 for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD category (Intimation Charges only) and Rs 600 for candidates belonging to the General and Others category (application fee including intimation charges). The payment can be done online.
Selection Procedure
The SBI selection procedure has three stages:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Phase-II: Main Examination
Phase - III: Group Discussion and Interview
Final Selection
While preapring the final merit list, the Preliminary Examination marks will not be counted. Only the Main Examination marks will be added to the marks obtained in the GD and Interview.
Result
The candidates who clear the GD and Interview stage and the list of candidates finally shortlisted will be made available on the official SBI website.
Exam Date
Preliminary Examination will be conducted tentatively in June 2015.
