Real education is giving back to Mother Earth

Yes, we know that education is important. So how do you define education? Is it solving theorems at the speed of lightning or knowing chemical formulae by heart? Or is knowing all about world history and literature since the Byzantium era, education?

 

True we need the above to get admission to that coveted engineering, medical, MBA and Mass Communication school, but ARE WE REALLY LEARNING HERE? Mugging up data or having the technical skills to top any exam is important, but have you ever asked yourselves, what are we doing with this education?

 

Are we applying it to our daily lives? Every day we hear success stories of people inventing stuff that will bring about a revolution in the world. Just the other day, I heard that two teenagers invented shoes that can recharge your mobile phone while running. Similarly, Aman Venkateshwaran, Mihiraan Singh, Udai Singh & Varun Shriram all students of Class 12 at The Shri Ram School, Moulsari, Gurgaon - Haryana created a clamp meter that aids in the reduction of AC energy wastage! Revolutionary! But why wait for one-in-a-million geniuses to create something for us? Why can’t we be creators in our own way and contribute to Mother Earth? After all, she has given us so much!
