Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2014

The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2014, which is conducted to test the eligibility of the candidates for teaching in government schools in the Punjab state, is to be conducted on the 10th of August this year.

Applications from all over the country have been invited by Punjab’s State Council of Educational Research and training for PSTET 2014.

The PSTET exam will be comprised of two set of papers namely:
Paper I- Classes I to V
Paper II- Classes VI to VIII

Both the exams are to be conducted on 10th August 2014.

Eligibility Criteria/Minimum Qualification-

1) Paper-1 (Class I to V)- The applicant should have cleared his/her class 12th or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% marks along with having cleared the final year of a 2-year diploma in Elementary Education or Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45%. A candidate appearing for the final year of the 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. EL. ED.) or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

2) Paper II (Class I to V) - The candidate should have passed or should be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. He/she could also be a graduate with at least 50% marks and or passed in the 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or should have passed or appearing in the final year of the 4-year bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EL.ED.).
Candidates who wish to teach both the set of classes can appear for the tests, i.e. Paper I and Paper II.
